Welp, had a fabulous Triduum celebration with the fam. and UP community out in Portland, Oregon! I don't know what it is about the Triduum, but I just love it!...
Oh wait, I DO know why I love it soooo much! Because we celebrate the fact that Jesus, my Lord and Savior, humbled Himself and came to earth as a human, suffered a horrific death on a cross, but rose again!!! And why would He do all that?!? John 3:16 ...a well-known verse (i hope!) "For God so loved the world (each and every one of US) that he gave his one and only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life!" Yeehaw!! and not only that but he "came that so we might have life and have it more abundantly"!! John 10:10! Ummm, good new my friends!! The Triduum celebration is basically the pinnacle of our Catholic faith! (other than the Eucharist of course!!) We get to have our feet washed on Holy Thursday, die with Christ on Good Friday, and rise again with Him on Easter Sunday!! AND, we get to welcome others into our Catholic family at the Vigil!!! =)
Overall, my time in Portland was fabulous! Got to be with my ENTIRE family for at least one meal!! (and i got to eat hot chips and fresh salsa too! i gave it up for lent... so i was kinda excited to have them again!!)
I also got to...
* celebrate my Aunt Lynda's 50th birthday! My highlight: playing with all the little cousins in Uncle Tom and Aunt Carol's bathtub!) And whenever I sat next to Sheelagh, she would grab my hand and place it on her tummy, so I could try and feel Baby Sprout move around!... s/he finally made an appearance the night before I left for MN!! Yay, finally!
* have a poker night/sleep over at Lisa's house and see lots of friends!! And I even got to show them parts of a Lifeline video so they kinda know what I've been doing out here in chilly St. Paul!
* Go to coffee with Ficheck! Thanks pal!
* Hang out/catch up with Melissa!! You're cute!
* Dye easter eggs with the fam, and still be visited by the Easter bunny!
* Go through our attic and dig through my deep storage stuff for my future house supplies... i found some great stuff for our apartment next year! Thanks to the bunny too, we have some sweet coasters!
* Sing in the choir for almost all of the masses! Oh how I miss that! Mo, you're great!!
* Seeing a lot of my 4A gals on campus all grown up and preparing to graduate this May!!! Weird!
Anyway, I'm due for a nap... =) I hope your Easter was blessed too!
Final "thought" for the day... who's more pregnant?!?...
