Crazyness!!
So, as most of you know, every first Saturday of the month I help put on an event at the NET Center called Lifeline! Well, this month things were a bit different to say the least!
Our night was going as planned, Br. Emanuel Mary Mansford, C.F.R. was there and scheduled to give a talk on prayer for the night, and afterwards we were going to have adoration too! Overall, a very powerful night! Mass was great, had a minor problem with some teen smoking in the boys room, but nothing too bad... then, one of the Home Teamers took me aside and was like, "Julie! Do you know what's going on outside?!?" I looked at him perplexed and replied, "no, what's going on?"
He proceeded to tell me that the NET Center was currently on lock-down, and that there were police surrounding our building with dogs and in helicopters too! I seriously almost didn't believe him! I guess there was a hit and run outside our building, but not only was it a hit and run, it was suspected that the guy was drunk and he had actually hit a cop! AND, he was on foot, and possibly in our building! Sooo, they wouldn't let anyone out of the building!
Crazyness I tell ya! However, with all the chaos going on outside, most people there had no idea what was going on! =) And that's the way we kept it until the end of the night too! Joe, my boss, handled it very well, and simply informed people that no one could leave, just like every other Lifeline Event! We had some mad parents at the doors, confused and a little scared, but nothing too bad! People were overall understanding and trusting there was a good reason why we wouldn't let them leave!
Around 8:30pm cops started escorting the people out who really needed to leave! Yay! Many happy folks!
THEN, highlight of the evening for me!! I got to sing up front with Caroline and the band during adoration!!! =) Incredible experience! Hopefully one to be repeated in the near future too! It felt like heaven on earth! Being able to watch Jesus process through the crowds and being able to worship him with the voice He gave me!! Praise God was that ever awesome!
Another praise report... at 9:45 pm when we were winding down the night, all the cops had already taken off, and we were all able to leave the building!! So, we didn't have to come up with other things to do with all those 1,000-some people to keep them occupied!! AND, they caught the guy! I tried to find it on the news yesterday and today but never could fins the complete story! Guess I'll never know! Oh well! That's all for now! Love ya!
